Dear members and friends of CASWE,
We were all looking forward to meeting in person this year in Montreal at McGill university. As you may be aware, there is currently a pro-Palestinian protest on campus and the Association of McGill Professors of Law (AMPL) is on strike.
Given the current circumstances, and in alignment with our social justice values and commitment to decolonize higher education spaces, but also to respect and honor the voices of our members, we have made the difficult decision to try and relocate the conference to a different venue in Montréal.
We will confirm alternative plans as soon as we are able to do so; finding a new host for our Conference which brings together hundreds of scholars from Canada and beyond is an overwhelming undertaking, but we feel compelled to do so by our moral compass. We acknowledge that this dynamic situation is incredibly frustrating for everyone involved, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
