Getting to the University of Montréal

This is a reminder about the relocation of our conference to the new venue at the University of Montreal (3200 Jean-Brillant, Montréal QC H3T 1N8). To assist you in reaching the new location, we have prepared a guide on how to use Uber, Google Maps, and other transportation options.

Additionally, please be advised that due to the relocation of our conference, catering services will not be available during the conference. Attendees are encouraged to explore nearby restaurants for their meals. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Below is a non-exhaustive list of restaurants near the University of Montreal campus:

  • Pho Lien – Vietnamese and Asian cuisine, known for its exceptional pho. Located at 5703 Cote des Neiges, about 0.8 km from the university.

  • Duc de Lorraine – European and French cuisine, a classic spot for brunch. Located at 5002 Ch de la Cote des Neiges, about 1 km away.

  • Restaurant Ermitage – Russian and Eastern European cuisine, offering a 5-star tasting menu. Located at 5024 Chemin De La Cote-Des-Neiges, 0.9 km away.

  • Caravane Cafe – Cozy cafe serving a variety of light meals. Located at 3506 Avenue Lacombe, 0.7 km from the university.

Accommodations – Cancellation

We would like to provide important information shared with us by the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences regarding the modification or cancellation of your accommodation:

  • McGill Residences: Individuals are welcome to reach out to McGill’s Housing Department to modify or cancel their stay. They can be reached at 514-398-5433. Please note, “Payment in full will be charged on the card provided 3 days prior to arrival. Cancellations or modifications received in writing later than 3 days prior to arrival are subject to full reservation payment,” as stated on their website.
  • Delta Hotel: We ask that individuals please reach out to this email (organizers@federationhss.ca). We can then reach out to the hotel on your behalf and follow up with confirmation.
  • Omni Hotel: Please contact the hotel directly. Please note, the Omni does have a non-refundable one-night deposit upon booking.
  • Other Accommodations: Cancelation policies will vary case by case. A majority of hotels allow cancellation up to 3 days or 72 hours prior to the agreed-upon stay. Should your members wish to change or cancel their stay, we recommend doing so before this point in time to avoid any charges.
